CINCINNATI (AP) No matter how high the stakes Authentic Justin Bethel Jersey , how big the deficit or how late in the game, Ben Roethlisberger and his tough-to-catch playmakers always find a way to leave the Bengals wondering what just happened.

Chris Boswell kicked a field goal on the final play shortly after Antonio Brown caught a 6-yard touchdown pass – taking a hit to the head while landing in the end zone – and the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off another improbable comeback against the stunned Bengals, rallying for a 23-20 victory Monday night.

Down 17-0 early, the Steelers (10-2) extended their best start since 2004 in a physical game with a couple frightening injuries. Brown’s touchdown tied it at 20 with 3:51 to go – safety George Iloka was penalized for hitting him in the head after the catch. Boswell won it with 38-yard field goal, his second straight winner in the closing seconds.

Both teams know the script.

”It sort of reminded me of the playoff game – what was it, two years ago?” Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward said. ”It’s sort of the best reality TV show out there – better than the Kardashians.”

Two years ago, the Steelers came to Paul Brown Stadium and pulled out an improbable 18-16 playoff win set up by Cincinnati’s fumble and personal fouls on Vontaze Burfict and Adam ”Pacman” Jones. Boswell won that one with a 35-yard kick with 14 seconds left.

Desperate for a win to salvage their playoff hopes, the Bengals (5-7) still couldn’t find a way to beat their Ohio River rival, not even after getting off to the big early lead. They’ve dropped six straight and nine of 10 against Pittsburgh.

”Very disappointing Terrell Edmunds Super Bowl LI Jersey ,” said Bengals receiver A.J. Green, who had two touchdown catches in the first half. ”We had it.”

Nope. They never do, not against the Steelers.

”We’ve got a no-blink group,” coach Mike Tomlin said. ”We’ve been in this situation before, and in this stadium before.”

The hard-hitting game was full of personal fouls, penalties and injuries that could have a long-term effect, especially for the AFC North leaders.

Pittsburgh lost leading tackler Ryan Shazier to a back injury in the first quarter. The linebacker was taken off the field on a cart and taken to a hospital for evaluation. Tomlin had no details about his injury or his prognosis after the game. ESPN reported that Tomlin went to the hospital after the game to check on Shazier.

”Ryan is one of the biggest players on this defense,” linebacker Vince Williams said. ”When we need a big play, he’s one of the guys we look to. It’s going to be tough.”

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was carted off in the fourth quarter after JuJu Smith-Schuster leveled him with a high hit Authentic Nick Nelson Jersey , then taunted him by walking over him.

There were four penalties for unnecessary roughness, one for unsportsmanlike conduct, one for roughing the passer and another for taunting. The Bengals self-destructed with 13 penalties for a team-record 173 yards.

The Steelers remain tied with New England for best record in the conference. They host the Patriots on Dec. 17.

Bottled up by Cincinnati’s aggressive defense in the first half, Pittsburgh’s playmakers made the difference down the stretch, just as they have all season. They rallied to beat the Packers 31-28 last Sunday on Boswell’s 53-yard field goal on the final play, which was set up by Brown’s incredible sideline catch.

After missing practice last week with an injured toe, Brown ran gingerly in pregame warmups and had another big game, finishing with 101 yards in eight catches.

Le’Veon Bell ran for 76 yards and had another 106 yards on five catches, including a 35-yard touchdown play in which he remarkably kept his balance along the sideline – cornerback William Jackson pulled up Authentic Mike Remmers Jersey , thinking there was no way he could stay inbound.

It’s the first time that Bell and Brown each had 100 yards receiving in the same game. Ben Roethlisberger was 24 of 40 for 290 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception.

PRIME-TIME OPPOSITES

The Steelers have won 11 straight prime-time games, including four already this season against the Lions (Sunday night), the Titans (Thursday night) and the Packers (last Sunday night). It’s been a horrific time slot for the Bengals, who are 11-24 on Monday night, dropping their past four.

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

Roethlisberger has won his last seven prime-time starts, throwing 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. In those games, Brown has 58 catches for 883 yards with 15 touchdowns.

IN YOUR FACE

Bell and Burfict have a long-running feud on Twitter, and it got in-your-face right away. After Jones picked off a pass to end the Steelers’ opening possession, Bell shoved Burfict’s facemask and drove him to the ground Authentic Will Hernandez Jersey , drawing a personal foul.

BIG NUMBER

Roethlisberger became the eighth quarterback in NFL history to reach 50,000 yards passing, joining Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Dan Marino, John Elway and Eli Manning.

OTHER INJURIESImage

Steelers: Brown missed practice last week with a toe injury. He moved slowly during pregame warmups but started and finished with eight catches for 101 yards.

Bengals: Jones injured his groin on his first-quarter interception and didn’t return. Running back Joe Mixon suffered a concussion late in the first half.

ENGLEWOOD Authentic Anthony Averett Jersey , Colo. (AP) The defending champion New England Patriots wouldn’t seem like an ideal elixir for a team that’s lost its way along with four consecutive games.

The Patriots, though, have long been the Denver Broncos’ best barometer.

”We’ve had a tough stretch here, so the perfect cure is to play a team like this,” coach Vance Joseph said after listing 14 players on his injury report Wednesday. ”I mean, it’s the best of the best. So, for us to get our good feeling back it’s the perfect opponent, on national TV Authentic Pernell McPhee Jersey , so I’m very excited for Sunday night.”

Despite a rash of injuries to key players, the Patriots (6-2) behind Tom Brady and Bill Belichick come to Colorado planted on their customary perch atop the AFC East.

Behind a porous O-line and sloppy quarterback play, the Broncos (3-5) are adrift under their rookie head coach and mired in a four-week funk in which they’ve been outscored by an average of 31-13.

”The best time to turn it around is against a team like this that’s not going to beat themselves,” Broncos running back C.J. Anderson said. ”They’re going to be very disciplined, very detailed and focused on their jobs and we can definitely take something from that.”

John Elway has measured his team’s success against the Patriots both on and off the football field since taking over as head of football operations in 2011.

Either the Patriots or Broncos have earned the AFC’s top playoff seed in all six seasons since then with the Patriots winning three conference championships and two Super Bowls and the Broncos winning two AFC titles and one Super Bowl.

In his first season in Denver, Elway watched Belichick and Brady twice school Tim Tebow, convincing him he had to make a play for Peyton Manning in free agency.

After a loss at New England in Week 5 dropped Manning to 2-3 in his comeback season, the Broncos reeled off 11 straight wins before Rahim Moore’s blunder led to a double-overtime loss to Baltimore in the playoffs.

In 2013 Wholesale Marshall Newhouse Jersey , an overtime loss at Foxborough sparked Denver’s Super Bowl run that included a 26-16 win over New England in the conference championship.

The Patriots’ trips to Colorado the last two regular seasons also served as harbingers for the Broncos’ playoffs hopes.

Brock Osweiler , who will be under center again Sunday night, replaced an injured Manning on Nov. 29, 2015, and led Denver’s comeback in a snowy 30-24 overtime win.

Manning was back starting two months later when the Broncos again hosted the Patriots and battered Brady in a 20-18 win that propelled Denver to its third Super Bowl title.

Manning called it a career a month later and Osweiler bolted to Houston, leaving Trevor Siemian to win the quarterback job.

He wasn’t up to the task when the Patriots visited Denver last year and Denver’s defense limited Brady to 16 completions and the Patriots to 16 points but the Broncos managed a mere field goal.

When Gary Kubiak asked afterward if anyone had anything to say, tackle Russell Okung rose and was shouted down by Aqib Talib, the fissure between the team’s all-star defense and anemic offense erupting in hot-tempered fury.

The Broncos were eliminated from the playoff race a week later and Kubiak decided to step down for health reasons. So Authentic Marquis Haynes Jersey , while Brady and Belichick were on their way to their fifth Super Bowl triumph, Elway was conducting his third coaching search in four years.

At 40, Brady remains as good as ever despite losing Julian Edelman and Malcom Mitchell to knee injuries.

Osweiler returned to Denver after an 18-month odyssey that included Houston’s hard-fought 34-16 loss to Brady in the playoffs.

A dozen turnovers sent Siemian to the bench last week and Joseph decided to stick with Osweiler this week despite his pair of interceptions that led to touchdowns in Denver’s 51-23 flop at Philadelphia.

”I don’t expect them to play like that against us,” Patriots running back James White said. ”Every time we play them, it’s a four-quarter football game, not very high-scoring.”

Brady is seeking just his fourth win in 11 trips to Denver.

”There’s little margin of error when you go out there,” Brady said. ”We’re going to have to play good. They have a great defense. They have great players on both sides of the ball. You can’t go out there and make a bunch of mistakes and expect to win.”

Desperate to save their season, these Broncos are as tough a challenge as the ones that were always jockeying with the Patriots for the AFC’s top playoff seed Sylvester Williams Jersey Elite , Brady said.

”You learn a lot from losses,” Brady said, ”and everyone wants to get the bad taste out of their mouth.”Image

Nutrition for injured athletes

Poor nutrition can lead to conditions that increase the risk of injury. But injuries are often an unavoidable aspect when participating in physical activity. An injury can be particularly distressing for the eating-disordered athlete. Psychological support is important. No change in diet is necessary when a quick recovery is expected.

Surgical trauma, fever, or infection requires dietary changes. In these cases, protein intake should be increased during the early stages of recovery, because protein repair damaged tissues.

Protein is important for immune function. If a slow recovery is expected, the injury might cause significant emotional stress. Fear, anxiety, and anger are all typical reactions to injury. These emotions can increase the secretion of epinephrine (adrenaline) from the adrenal gland. This in turn can cause a series of metabolic changes that result in increased loss of nitrogen (protein) through the urine.

In general Chad Thomas Super Bowl LI Jersey , the importance of psychological support for injured athletes varies depending on length of recovery and injury severity. Anxiety about the injury might lead to increased food cravings, more free time and less structure in the daily routine can lead to boredom and increases opportunities to eat more and it may result in weight gain. Some injured athletes simply do not adjust their energy needs and continue to follow their typical training diet.

SEATTLE (AP) Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons did enough through 3 1/2 quarters that even the best comeback attempt by Russell Wilson fell short this time.

A couple of yards short to be exact.

Ryan threw a pair of touchdown passes Adidas Marc-Andre Fleury Jersey , Adrian Clayborn returned a fumble 10 yards for a score and the Falcons watched Blair Walsh’s 52-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds fall short, holding off the Seattle Seahawks for a 34-31 win on Monday night.

Atlanta won its second straight to stay on the heels of New Orleans and Carolina in the NFC South, and handed Seattle a second consecutive home loss.

”What an absolute team win from the guys tonight,” Atlanta coach Dan Quinn said. ”Coming here, in this environment, with the crowd Authentic Baker Mayfield Jersey , we thought it would be two competitive, tough teams that were going to battle for it in the biggest way.”

Ryan threw TDs to Mohamed Sanu and Levine Toilolo, while Tevin Coleman added a 1-yard TD run on Atlanta’s opening possession.

But it was Clayborn’s fumble return that helped break the game open early in the second quarter and gave Atlanta a 21-7 lead. He scooped up a loose ball after Wilson was crunched by Takk McKinley and Courtney Upshaw.

”I think we’re moving in the right direction. We keep proving we can finish games and beat guys. We have to take the momentum and keep rolling with it,” Clayborn said.

With Seattle down 11 points, Wilson hit Doug Baldwin on a 29-yard TD with 3 minutes left and then threw to Jimmy Graham for the two-point conversion. Seattle got the ball back and moved in range for Walsh, whose attempt was on line but landed short of the crossbar.

”That was in our range Bradley Chubb Jersey Elite , and in hindsight I would have just driven it more,” Walsh said. ”I would have driven it more and not left it short. I was too accurate and didn’t have enough on it.”

Wilson again was the entirety of Seattle’s offense, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns, and running for another 86 yards and a TD.

But it was an awful night for the Seahawks, filled with more injuries and questionable decisions by coach Pete Carroll. He called for a fake field goal late in the first half rather than attempting a 35-yard kick. He also made a questionable challenge in the fourth quarter that didn’t go his way and left Seattle with just one timeout.

That lack of timeouts came back to haunt Seattle on the final drive when seconds ticked away and rather than running one more play, Walsh was sent out to attempt the 52-yard kick. His long for the season is 49 yards.

The conclusion only amplified Carroll’s baffling decision at the end of the first half Wholesale Da'Ron Payne Jersey , when Seattle ran a fake field goal rather than having Walsh attempt a 35-yarder that would have pulled Seattle within 24-20. Holder Jon Ryan completed his shovel pass to Luke Willson, but Grady Jarrett read the play and tackled Willson for a 4-yard loss.

Willson said Atlanta’s defense on the play was different than what Seattle had seen on film.

”It would have been a really good call if we had made it,” Carroll said. ”Terrific opportunity right where we wanted it and the defensive tackle made a better play.”

Seattle played a game for the first time since the end of the 2010 season without Richard Sherman. His streak of 99 consecutive starts in the regular season was snapped because of a torn Achilles tendon suffered against Arizona. The Seahawks were also without safety Kam Chancellor because of a neck injury, leaving their vaunted secondary with several new faces.

”Those two are phenomenal players. … It was a lot different,” Sanu said. ”They did a lot of different things but we just had to take advantage of our routes.”

MATTY ICE

Ryan was more than happy to pick on a defense without Sherman and Chancellor. He was 19 of 27 passing for 195 yards and rarely faced pressure. Seattle had one sack, and the Falcons went 9 of 14 on third-down conversions.

Sanu made a great one-handed grab for a 2-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Ryan found Toilolo on a 25-yard TD in the third quarter to give Atlanta a 31-20 lead. Matt Bryant added a 19-yard field goal with 3:49 left to put the Falcons ahead by 11 Rashaan Evans Jersey Elite , and Wilson’s late heroics weren’t enough.

Ryan’s streak of 64 straight games passing for at least 200 yards was snapped.

INJURIES

Seattle’s injury woes continued. The Seahawks lost rookie cornerback Shaquill Griffin to a concussion on the second play of the game, forcing newly signed veteran Byron Maxwell into a more prominent role than expected.Image

Early in the second half, promising running back Mike Davis was lost to a groin injury after taking a screen pass 21 yards. Davis had two receptions and had carried six times for 18 yards before getting hurt. Seattle also lost starting guard Oday Aboushi in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.

Atlanta got a scare when safety Keanu Neal was checked for a concussion in the first half. He was cleared to return.

DENVER (AP) Nathan MacKinnon is counting on 18 Nathan Shepherd Jersey Elite ,000 of his rowdy friends to give the Colorado Avalanche a little bit of an extra buzz.

Maybe even throw Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne off his game.

Trailing the top-seeded Predators 2-0 in the first-round series, the Avalanche return Monday (10 p.m. EDT, NBCSN) to a building that’s certainly been something to write home about this season. Their 28 wins at the Pepsi Center in the regular season tied the franchise mark held by the 2000-01 squad that went on to capture the Stanley Cup.

Article continues below ...
”We have lots of confidence here,” said MacKinnon , whose team has dropped 12 straight to the Predators. ”The building has been a lot of fun this year.”

Colorado isn’t the only team hoping a change of scenery provides a change in momentum – Toronto returns to friendly confines down 2-0 in the series against Boston (7 p.m., NBCSN). The New Jersey Devils are in the same boat versus Tampa Bay (7:30 p.m., CNBC) heading into their first playoff home game since 2012.

Then there’s the San Jose Sharks, who are sitting pretty after two road wins against Anaheim (10:30 p.m. Josh Jackson Super Bowl LI Jersey , CNBC). Now at home, the Sharks get last change and the opportunity to dictate matchups.

”It’s a nice luxury being at home, having those matchups,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. ”The bigger advantage is the crowd and the environment and being able to sleep in your own bed.”

For New Jersey, climbing back in the series boils down to this – avoiding big early deficits. They trailed the Lightning 3-0 in Game 1 and 5-1 in Game 2 before staging a comeback.

”We need to play as a group,” said coach John Hynes, who plans to make some lineup changes. ”We can’t have passengers.”

MacKinnon said the Avs need to clean up the little things against a savvy Predators team.

”We’re in a tough spot right now,” MacKinnon said. ”Two games at home. Hopefully Dallas Goedert Jersey Elite , we can even up the series.”

The Predators fully expect a more tenacious rush from a youthful Colorado squad.

”They’re persistent,” Nashville forward Austin Watson said. ”There’s no quit in them.”

ENCORE

Boston hopes David Pastrnak packs his Game 2 performance for the trip to Toronto. The 21-year-old had three goals and three assists to become the youngest NHL player with six or more points in a playoff game, surpassing Wayne Gretzky, according to the Bruins website.

”When you’re breaking a Wayne Gretzky record, I hope he realizes at his young age how cool it is,” forward David Backes told reporters. ”Hopefully he had fun last night and enjoyed that moment because it is special.”

REASON FOR OPTIMISM

The Ducks can latch on to some recent history for optimism in coming back from an 0-2 deficit. They lost the first two games at home in the second round last year to Edmonton before rallying to win the series in seven games.

”That’s the situation we’re in. We have a good team,” Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano said. ”We have a team that’s been in these situations before.”

CAKE WALK

This definitely takes the cake: At the start of the playoffs, IndyCar driver Josef Newgarden Mason Cole Super Bowl LI Jersey , a Nashville fan, proposed a wager to fellow racer, James Hinchcliffe, a Toronto Maple Leafs supporter. The driver with the team that bowed out of the Stanley Cup playoffs first had to bake the other a homemade cake and present it at an autograph session while wearing the opposing team’s sweater.

”Challenge accepted,” Hinchcliffe responded. ”They (Maple Leafs) are going to win it all. Nobody goes further than the team holding the Cup.”

Hinchcliffe added: ”Personally, I’m a red velvet guy.”

Newgarden said he prefers vanilla.

SAVING THE DAY

Avalanche coach Jared Bednar thought goaltender Jonathan Bernier played ”OK” in the first two games.

”If you look at the importance of goaltending this time of year, good is usually not good enough,” Bednar said.

Goaltending is on the minds of the Devils Josh Sweat Jersey Elite , too. Keith Kinkaid played well down the stretch, but has struggled in the postseason. He was lifted in the second period Sunday after giving up five goals on 15 shots.

Cory Schneider, who was the starter most of the season until a hip and groin injury in January sidelined him for a month, finished and did not allow a goal on 10 shots.
Image
”There is still a lot of hockey to be played,” Devils forward Taylor Hall said, ”and a lot of hockey on home ice as well.”

LAKE FOREST Wholesale Alex Cappa Jersey , Ill. (AP) Throwing 16 times a game runs contrary to popular methods for winning in the NFL, or getting a passer experience.

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Tribusky doesn’t care if his offense continues playing it safe – as long as it’s in a victory.

”As a quarterback, you want to be throwing the ball, but as a competitor and leader of this team, you’re going to do whatever it takes to win,” Trubisky said. ”And if it’s running the ball, if it’s passing the ball, whatever it is Wholesale Derwin James Jersey , that’s what we’re going to do.”

Article continues below ...
Trubisky goes into Sunday’s home game at Soldier Field against Carolina with only 41 pass attempts in two games, as the Bears have leaned heavily on the running of Jordan Howard.

Trubisky threw 16 passes and the Bears ran 54 times last week to beat Baltimore 27-24 in overtime.

Overall, they rank fourth in rushes (186) and 28th in pass attempts (183), but they’re not worried so few attempts limits Trubisky’s progress as they play it safe.

”This is a combative game, a will-breaking game,” Bears coach John Fox said. ”Running the football is not the easy way to do it. You’re not finessing people.

”I think it’s a little bit like a championship boxing match. Body blows aren’t real sexy, but they take their toll in the later rounds. It’s a way to win, maybe not as flashy Robert Griffin III Jersey Elite , as exciting as knockouts and those kinds of things. But it works.”

This approach is nothing new for a team coached by Fox.

In 2003 during Fox’s second year coaching the Panthers, they finished 28th in pass attempts (460) with Jake Delhomme at quarterback and third in rushing attempts (522) but went to the Super Bowl.

In 2011 with Tim Tebow at quarterback, the Denver Broncos were last in pass attempts (429), but first in rushing attempts (546) and won a wild-card round playoff game.

Offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains called the excessive running more abberation than a regular plan, and cited the Ravens’ use of a cover-2 defense as a reason.

The Ravens tried to confuse Trubisky in his second start with a defense they’d rarely played, and left open the running lanes.

”You (media) guys know me, I like to throw the football,” Loggains said. ”I’m a quarterback guy.”

Howard rambled for a career-high 167 yards and broke a 53-yarder to set up the winning overtime field goal by Connor Barth.

”When you average 4.5 yards a carry Authentic Daryl Worley Jersey , you can do that,” Loggains said. ”It’s easy to do that there. It’s when you’re averaging 2 and 3 and then all of sudden, you’re putting your quarterback in third-and-extra-long the whole time, you can’t play that type game.

”And that type game isn’t fun if you don’t win the game. The reward is you win and the guys up front did a great job. The run-game guys did a great job designing a good plan and our guys executed well.”

Loggains isn’t worried about a young passer becoming impatient with this style.

”He’s a team-first guy,” Loggains said. ”He knows that we are going to do whatever it takes to win a game.

”Sometimes it’s throwing 27 straight fastballs. If that’s what it is, that is what we are going to do. He also is very aware in his little time in the NFL that there are going to be games – maybe this week, maybe next week, maybe a month from now – that we are going to open it up and throw 45 times.”

Coaches say even with so few passes Authentic Chukwuma Okorafor Jersey , they’re seeing development in Trubisky.

”I feel like I’ve grown a lot,” Trubisky said. ”I mean, I’m able to see it, I’m able to see it coming.”

Fox said Trubisky patiently threw the ball away six times last week and called it a sign of progress.

A week earlier, Trubisky gave up a key fourth-quarter interception to lose his first game against Minnesota.

”You can’t get selfish wanting to force in every pass – that just doesn’t make sense,” Trubisky said. ”So it’s just me trying to play smarter and put my team in the best position to be successful each drive and come out winning games.

”The throwaways are important.”

NOTES: Defensive back Sherrick McManis missed Wednesday’s practice with a pulled hamstring suffered in Sunday’s game. … Linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (pectoral muscle) practiced Wednesday on a limited basis. Kwiatkoski has been out since suffering the injury in Week 2.

As the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils shifts to the Prudential Center for Game 3 Monday night Authentic Tyquan Lewis Jersey , one team espouses change while the other is quite fine with the status quo.

It is not hard to determine which team is which after the Lightning held serve on home ice, winning the first two games. Now it’s up to the Devils to change the narrative as the series shifts to Newark, but that may be easier said than done.

The Lightning took Game 1 by a 5-2 score and then ran out to a four-goal lead in the second game on Saturday before finishing the Devils off 5-3. Over 120 minutes of playoff hockey, the Lightning have not trailed for a single second.

“You approach every game at a time, and we’re just focused on the next one right now,” said the Lightning’s Tyler Johnson, who scored a goal in each of the first two games. “We’re not focused on what we did the first two games. It’s what we’re going to do in the next one.”

That business-like approach is echoed throughout the experienced Lightning dressing room. Not only did this team finish first in the Eastern Conference this season Wholesale Roquan Smith Jersey , but the roster swells with players that played in recent Stanley Cup and conference finals games.

That experience showed in the first two games as the Lightning handled momentum swings in a smoother fashion that far-less experienced Devils. And it could be a big advantage as the Lightning look to put a stranglehold on the series with a win Monday night.

“Just because you won the first two games at home, that’s not a paved path saying you’re going to win Game 3,” said Lightning coach Jon Cooper. “The best we played (Saturday), we’re going to go five percent better to win on the road.”

While the Devils had surges in the opening two games in Tampa, there is much room for improvement up and down their lineup. In fact, the lineup deployed by Devils coach John Hynes in the first two games, will be shaken up Monday night.

Hynes told reporters on a conference call Sunday that there will be changes made Daniel Kilgore Super Bowl LI Jersey , though he declined to specify which players might be in or out.

“There are some guys who just haven’t performed well enough to warrant staying in the lineup,” explained Hynes. “We’re a team, we need to play as a group. We can’t have passengers. We can’t have guys not necessarily playing as hard as they need to in the competitive areas of the game.”

Veterans Ben Lovejoy and Michael Grabner might be in danger of watching from the press box in Game 3. Both have struggled, and Grabner logged only 8:56 worth of ice time on Saturday.

Adding some intrigue to who may, or may not, play in Game 3 is that the Devils signed 2016 third-round pick Joey Anderson to an entry-level contract on Sunday. He will skate with the team Monday after recently helping the University of Minnesota-Duluth win the NCAA Championship.

Another area of question is in goal. Keith Kinkaid went 7-0-1 down the stretch between the pipes, helping the Devils secure their first playoff berth in six years Authentic Akeem Spence Jersey , after Cory Schneider was sidelined with a hip injury in January and then failed to win any of his starts upon his return more than a month later.

However, Kinkaid was blitzed by the high-powered Lightning offense in the first two games of this series and was pulled in favor of Schneider after allowing five goals on 15 shots in only 33:12 on Saturday.

Hynes said Sunday he decided on his starting goalie for Game 3 but was not ready to publicly divulge his choice.

“I feel confident in both goalies,” Devils alternate captain Taylor Hall told reporters Sunday. “That’s the least of our worries. Keith down the stretch was great and Cory’s had his times this year, as well.”

No matter who starts in goal, the Devils need to tighten up their overall defensive game and find ways to slow down the potent Lightning power play, which converted on three of its four opportunities in Games 1 and 2.

Despite the daunting task ahead of his team, Hall is excited for Monday night.

“It’s going to be really fun to have our fans behind us Josh Sweat Super Bowl LI Jersey ,” said Hall, who has one goal and one assist in the series. “Home ice is a huge advantage and using the fans can give is the push we need for Game 3.”

On Sunday Trent Brown Jersey Elite , the urinals in Wells Fargo Arena featured photos of Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby.

If the Flyers don’t find a way to stop Crosby and Company on Wednesday night, it will be their season on its way down the drain.

Pittsburgh took a 2-1 lead with Sunday’s 5-1 win meaning a victory in Game 4 sends them back home with a chance to clinch the series and take a step toward their third straight Stanley Cup.

Already in trouble, the Flyers got bad news during Tuesday’s practice when Radko Gudas and Sean Couturier collided. Couturier was helped off the ice and his status is in doubt for Wednesday night.

“You don’t like to see that. Coots is playing 20 minutes a night for us right now, is a big piece to our team,” Flyers captain Claude Giroux told the Courier Post.

Couturier is playing over 24 points per game and has a goal and two assists in the series.

The Flyers’ leading scorer, Giroux is also a big piece of the team. He totaled seven goals and 11 assists in the final 10 games of the regular season as the Flyers drove to a playoff spot Troy Niklas Super Bowl LI Jersey , finishing with a career-high 34 goals and 102 points.

He has one assist through the first three games of this series and two goals in his last 16 postseason games.

Scoring more is only half the equation for the Flyers. Holding the Penguins to a more manageable number of goals is the other. The Penguins had seven power play chances in Game 3 and scored three goals.

“We took six minor penalties in a 30-minute span in the middle of this hockey game,” Flyers coach Dave Hakstol told NHL.com. “You’re not going to win hockey games (that way).”

Making Crosby a ‘target’ off the ice on Sunday didn’t do anything to slow him down as he notched a goal and three assists.

“It’s not the first building that’s happened in,” Crosby told USA Today of the photo placement. “I don’t know if they stole that idea from somewhere else. But yeah, it’s not the first time that’s happened.”

Crosby has 30 points in 20 career playoff games against the Flyers, including 15 points in nine career playoff games in Philadelphia.

“I just think it’s an indication of how competitive he is,” Penguins coach Mike Sullivan told USA Today. “I think he thrives in that environment. I think he has a comfort level in that environment. When the stakes are high Preston Brown Super Bowl LI Jersey , if we’re in an away building and they’re important games, Sid tends to play his best.”

Evgeny Malkin had a goal and an assist, and Matt Murray made 26 saves for Pittsburgh in Game 3. Murray is 9-1 in games after a Penguins loss in the playoffs.

On the Pittsburgh side, it’s Phil Kessel who is struggling, with one assist in the first three games. Kessel is expected to again be on a line with Malkin and Carl Hagelin.

“You look at the last couple of games Wholesale Preston Brown Jersey , he had one that just missed the short-side off his stick,” Crosby told nhl.com, “and then last game, he had one low on the far-side that was a really good look. When he gets looks in those scoring areas, he doesn’t miss many of them. So I like his chances.”

The Penguins will be without a heart-and-soul player in rugged winger Patric Hornqvist. The team announced on Tuesday he will miss the game because of an upper-body injury.

“Horny’s not an easy guy to replace,” Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “He’s a unique player for us Vita Vea Jersey Elite , and he brings a lot. I think we’re just going to have to, by committee, pick up the pieces and make sure that the opportunities that are given to others that Horny normally fills, they’re going to get a great opportunity to help this team win a game.”
