The dre s rehearsal went off practically without a hitch for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers offense Friday night. That should come as a relief to the Packers faithful, because the le s they have to think about their defense, the better. And the le s they have to think about the reality of their Super Bowl chances with that defense, the better.MORE: Packers win game | Jones-Drew's gesture | DeShawn Shead Jersey Ranking all the stadiumsHad they been playing most other teams besides the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field in the critical third preseason game, Packers fans would have left terrified. Even so, the ease at which the Raiders scored on their first po se sion of the game took some of the shine off of the 22-7 lead provided by Rodgers in a quarter and a half. It took a lot of the shine off of the touchdown drive the Packers put together on the previous series, in fact.Maurice Jones-Drews 40-yard touchdown gallop on third-and-2 was only the worst of it. It took the Raiders and all their new offensive parts five plays to go 60 yards for the first-quarter score. All the key returning and new pieces of the Packers defense were on the field for the drive: nose tackle B.J. Raji, linebackers Clay Matthews and A.J. Hawk, end Julius Peppers, Tanner McEvoy Jersey cornerback Sam Shields. It got carved up then, and while the Raiders cost themselves multiple chances the rest of the half, the Packers defense simply proved that it was going to struggle to keep up with the offense Will Tukuafu Jersey and likely keep the team a stride or two behind the real NFC Super Bowl contenders. That offense, however, looked brilliant. Eddie Lacy put them on his shoulders on the first drive, so that Rodgers only had to complete one pa s a short cro s to tight end Richard Rodgers on third-and-2 that the latter turned into a 32-yard play. Lacys sixth carry on the seven-play drive was a one-yard touchdown run, and Rodgers two-point conversion pa s to Jordy Nelson was on point. The starters could have left at that point, but Rodgers stuck around long enough to throw two touchdown George Fant Jersey pa ses of his own, and show he was as mobile and creative in the pocket as he usually has been and as everyone needed him to be after recovering late last season from the broken collarbone. He took the hits he had to, but didnt take all that many, occasionally because of his legs.Rodgers was done with 6:02 left in the first half, completing 9-of-20 for 139 yards, the two touchdowns and the conversion, spreading it around to five receivers. All was well when Rodgers was on the field. It was when he was off and the defense was on that Packers watchers had reason to worry.
